Here’s a picture of my son, Tyler Perry, who is the inspiration for the Tyler in My Dog, Me. When he was playing Little League baseball in our neighborhood, we had the very conversation that prompted the story of this book. Of course, that was some 20+ years ago since he is now a C-17 pilot for the US Air Force. So, catalogue all those precious moments in your life that might someday become the inspiration for your book.
